superbuzzy Embroidered Patch - Japanese X & + Quilt Block
According to Barbara Brackman’s Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns, the Japanese X & + quilt block is attributed to Nancy Cabot from 1938, and was originally called the Spool Block. Much later, in 2011, a quilt using this block by Japanese quilter Setsuko Inagawa went viral in the quilt blog world and on Flickr, and many quilt-alongs and block exchanges were initiated for what then became known as the Japanese X and + block. I love this block so much that we've commemorated it with this exclusive superbuzzy embroidered patch! This limited edition, iron-on embroidered patch is perfect for embellishing your bag, jacket, or sash. Patches are 1 1/2" in diameter, and can be ironed on or sewn in (we recommend sewing for a permanent hold).
