Feed Dog Designs - Paper Shredder

No one likes to be buried under a pile of paperwork. unless it's for a nap under this striking lap quilt, inspired by strips of paper falling out of a shredder. The semi-improvisational process is perfect for the quilter who doesn't go by the book.

Finished Size: 50" x 60" (127 x 152.5 cm)

Fabric Requirements: All fabrics are 45" (114.5 cm) wide cotton.

  • 2 1/2 yd (2.3 m) of solid cotton fabric for block backgrounds (Main; shown: orange)
  • About 3 yd (2.7 m) total scraps of assorted print fabrics for strips and block backgrounds (Contrast group; shown: black, white, and cream typography prints; refer to Steps 1 and 2 for necessary sizes)
  • 3 yd (2.7 m) of backing fabric (shown: black and gray stripe)

The sample quilt has an envelope-finished edge. If you prefer a bias-binding finish on the outer edge of your quilt, refer to the notes for yardage requirements.
