Mollie Makes - Issue 99

Mollie Makes 99 is here. 99. Can you believe it? It feels like only yesterday we were making our first issue and now we’re approaching the mags 100th birthday. How time flies when you’re having fun (and constantly crafting, decorating, making and lifeing).

Issue 99 is celebrating all things Christmas, giving you some top makes that you can finish in time for the big month. Our cover project is Anabella Cahwje’s Nutcracker heirloom softies – you can’t get more Christmassy than a tiny mouse wearing a crown.

There’s also Jen Peters’ eight festive papers which can double up as last-minute wrapping paper and gift suggestions for friends, kids and most importantly, crafters. So have a wander to your local supermarket, pick up a copy of issue 99 and some mince pies and get making.

Projects in this issue

  • Nutcracker heirloom softies
  • Jazzy Christmas jumper
  • Boho macraweave cushion
  • Botanical festive tablescape
  • Yarn wrapped lampshade
  • Colorful crochet blanket
  • Winter knitted mittens
  • Statement clay necklace
  • Crochet bauble gift tags
  • Easy-sew cozy slippers
Your gift – Paper star decorations

This month’s gift is 12 luxe paper star ornaments which are going to up your Christmas tree game forever. Created by the papercraft legend Sarah Matthews, with paper illustrations by Jana and Marko of The Completist, these gifts are gorgeous and multi-functional. They can hang on your tree filled with treats or be strung up as a festive garland above the stockings. Bonus function – they also double as gift boxes if you’ve forgotten this year’s work secret Santa (again).

Meet Philippa Stanton and Zoe Pearson

We also went and had a chat with some fab women this month such as author Philippa Stanton, Pinterest icon Zoe Pearson and mini maker Steph Wallace. We talked about synaesthesia, this year’s trend in festive home styling and everyone’s dream fantasy, miniature vintage caravans. We’ve come away from issue 99 feeling super inspired with severe home décor envy and slight pet jealously (just look at that cat).

Our chat with Zoe had us so inspired that we’re on an even bigger Pinterest hype than usual. Have a follow of our ‘All Things Christmas’ board for some quick festive inspo or check out our blog post where Zoe gave us some tips on becoming one of the Pinterest elite.
