Hana-Fukin Sashiko Cloth - Dragon Crest - Indigo

This Japanese sashiko pattern cloth is hand-printed with water-soluble ink on indigo, 100% cotton fabric. A fierce dragon is depicted in this design. Fabric measures 13 3/8" x 25 5/8" (34cm x 65cm), and the finished size is 12”x 12” (30cm x 30cm). Because the ink is water-soluble, be sure to avoid using a steam iron or contact with water until your stitching is complete.

This size is commonly referred to as Hana-fukin, or kitchen cloth, in Japan. They can be used as a practical kitchen cloth (placemats, to cover produce, for wrapping foods, etc.), but are also perfect for throw pillows, garment embellishments, purses and pouches, and incorporating into patchwork projects.

Iron with a dry iron and do not pre-wash; the ink is water soluble and will disappear once it comes into contact with water.
