Rashida Coleman-Hale designed Reign in the summer of 2020. She says, “It was such a difficult time for not just myself, but Black people all over this country and the planet. We were finally being seen, but for all the wrong reasons. I’m so amazed by my people and all of the things that we have managed to accomplish and overcome in this life despite being subject to a system that wasn’t built for us to succeed. Black people are Kings and Queens! So, I created Reign as a reminder to myself, my husband, my children, my people that we must own our power and remember who we are.” Rashida designed a range of beautiful, jewel-toned cottons with lots of metallic gold sparkles. Three coordinating canvases were inspired the tranquility she felt at sand dunes she visited, empty and peaceful at the height of quarantine.
