Good Luck Tanuki Dobby - Moss

The tanuki, or raccoon dog, is a species of canid endemic to Japan (i.e., not found anywhere else in the world). They have quite a humorous reputation in Japan, and are known to be shapeshifters and tricksters, as well as forgetful. You will often see a statue of a tanuki in front of bars and restaurants in Japan because they are thought to impersonate humans to get alcohol and tasty food; the statues are intended to fool other tanuki into thinking that the restaurant has already been raided by one of their kind.

The tanuki in this fun print are of the good fortune variety, holding a lucky coin (koban).
