Give a warm welcome to Mollie Makes 89.
Winter has gone on for way too long (agree?) and we’re more than ready for spring, when everything is fresh and new. This issue is all about refreshing our crafting and finding different ways to create. We’ve got a bold Ultra Violet hoop for your home — reflecting Pantone’s Colour of the year — plus a woven bag, and a colorful crochet cushion, for an original take on a favorite technique. Want a bold statement for your wall? Our free gift is a ‘Be Kind’ cross stitch banner, a quick make that you’ll whip up in no time at all.Be kind — what could be a better mantra? Add some positivity to your wall with issue 89’s cover gift — a cross stitch banner from Chloe Hardisty of Cotton Clara. The kit comes with a mini wooden pennant (holes pre-cut for you), needle and thread. You can use everything in the pack, or choose your own thread and paint the board a different color to customize it more.
Meet Tom Gyr and Lucy Tiffney
Shabby ballpoints are a thing of the past for Bournemouth-based Tom Gyr, who makes the most stunning calligraphy tools (as stocked in Harrods and Quill London, FYI). We sat down with him to find out more about his business, Tom’s Studio, and how he’s grown it so successfully.
Fancy a peek around one incredibly colorful home? Artist and interiors gal Lucy Tiffney shows us round her vibrant Essex abode. Spoiler: expect to see one epic statement wall, lots of quirky cushions and nods to her many travels.
