About Joey Strait:

My passion has been quilting for the past twenty years – I’m sure I was born in a pile of Fat Quarters! I started teaching 15 years ago in the Newbury Park Senior Center and found it so rewarding, I opened up my own Quilt Shop in Ventura. Quilt Ventura has been a dream come true for me, but sadly we closed in 2017. My favorite classes to teach are patchwork both by hand and machine, hand and machine Applique, and machine Quilting. I have even taught Fabric Painting and how to use your fabrics to create beautiful art quilts.

I appreciate the traditional quilts; I love the contemporary fabrics and aspire to a modern approach to quilting – always open to new techniques and tools!
